Nothing like the satisfaction of a job well done
After several years of hard and stimulating work, we can mark in our achievements the milestone of having contributed to the complete sensorization of cattle farms: the GO VACUSOS Operational Group.
GO VACUSOS is an innovative project developed under the National Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
Since its inception in 2019, at CEDESA we have brought all our experience to the table, with the result that we have not only achieved 100% of the initial objective, but we can also say that we have drawn very satisfactory conclusions along the way:
1.- The sensorization of the farms and its monitoring in real time is feasible: By means of a system of obtaining information in real time, monitoring and alerts, it is possible that the farmer can control or optimize his entire farm, from the devices connected online, and with a simple and friendly interface.
2.- There are still small barriers to overcome for specific cases: Although the final result of the project is fully operational and replicable in most cases, the heterogeneous environment of the different farms does not allow sensing as a product. Ad-hoc study, consultancy and design is necessary.
3.- Current limitations have been overcome: After numerous studies and tests, we have demonstrated that it is possible to carry out the sensorization of farms even if they do not have a continuous power supply.
4.- The rural communications network is sufficient in most cases: Although the farms targeted in the pilot project were all in rural settings, the results and tests have shown that the existing communications are sufficient to run optimized software and hardware at the highest level.
At CEDESA we know that we grow with research, and we are proud to be part of Operational Groups in which we are surrounded by the best professionals in each sector.
Thus, with increasingly giant steps, we feel how we are bridging that initial gap that separated the livestock industry from the new technologies.
